A federal grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump on Tuesday for his role in Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election, in a rare move that came just days after the Justice Department announced indictments of former White House officials and a former national security adviser.

The Justice Department said in a statement that it is reviewing the charges, which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
